During our little road trip, I had a go at driving on the wrong side of the road. I have no idea how people do this so easily! The first thing to throw me was the seatbelt. It was on my left. I was sat on the wrong side of the car, driving on the wrong side of the road with my left food dangling around looking in an empty space for a clutch. In Canada, they drive automatics. Every set of lights, I expected to stall as I wasnt putting a clutch in, and being allowed to turn right on a red light felt terribly badly behaved.
Anyway, at least now I have tried it! I think a little more practice may be needed before I hit downtown Toronto or embark on any unsupervised driving missions.

I have been driving over here for almost 3 weeks and trying to avoid sweeping generalisations but doing so anyway, I find the Canadians terrible drivers! If you indicate, without fail they will put their foot down to stop you moving lanes and they still don’t understand roundabouts at all-they treat them like stop signs which isn’t helped when some roundabouts actually have stop signs at them-a bit of a contradiction!
I spoke to my canadian sister in law about how they get their licence as I’ve seen maybe 1 learner driver car since I’ve been here. They seem to be a lot more relaxed, sitting a basic test and then driving on a restricted licence for a time. I’ve seen a lot of bad car accidents over here too and a lot of headlines involving young drivers.
