Things to do in Toronto

I have spent the last few months constantly researching things to do in and around Toronto, with a few bits and bobs for other areas.  Havent spent much time looking into West Coast, but there are a few bits there to get me started in case I make it over there. 

Here goes….


  • Toronto Zoo
  • Dundas Square underground mall
  • Wasaga Beach – worlds largest freshwater beach
  • Distillery District – shops and architecture
  • Eaton Centre shopping centre
  • Mick and Angelos – Man Vs Food place near Niagara Falls
  • Yonge Street – longest street in the world at 1896km connecting Lake Ontario to Lake Simcoe
  • Niagara Falls – Maid of the mist boat ride
  • Horseshoe Falls
  • CN Tower – edge walk  (second tallest tower in the world at 553.33m high)
  • O’Noir Restaurant


  • Coby Jail in Coboconk, smallest jail at 15ft x 18ft with 2 cells
  • Algonquin Provincial Park – canoeing, dog sledding, log cabins
  • Haliburton Forest – walk in the clouds canopy tour




  • See a beaver/ moose/ bear in the wild
  • Horse riding
  • Shoot handguns at a shooting range – any suggestions or recommendations welcomed…
  • Visit New York
  • Go to a Rodeo – maybe this one – Ultimate Rodeo Tour
  • Skate on a Frozen Lake – Rideau Canal in Ottawa?
  • Stay at the Hostel in Ottawa that used to be a jail
  • Swim with Beluga Whales
  • Visit the Polar Bear reserve in Churchill, Manitoba and see the Northern Lights
  • Iceberg Alley in Newfoundland
  • Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia
  • Maritime Museum in Nova Scotia – has bits from Titanic
  • See the house from Anne of Green Gables at Prince Edward Island
  • Go on the 1000 Islands boat trip with the stop at Boldt Castle
  • Visit the prison Prison museum in Kingston

WEST COAST – A brief start in case I go there….

  • Capilano suspension bridge in Vancouver
  • Rocky mountains and hot springs
  • Yellowknife
  • Calgary Stampede
  • Snort chocolate in the liquorice parlour in Vancouver
  • Visit Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump in Alberta
  • See the Mendenhall ice caves in Alaska
  • Climb ‘mother natures stairmaster’ at the Grouse Grind, Grouse Mountain
  • Peak to Peak gondola, skiing and Ziptrek tours at Whistler
